How Premium Auctions Work
Everything you need to know about participating in Premium Auctions on MotorChain
Registration
The first step is to register your details on MotorChain in order to enable bidding. Premium listings start at £25.99 and run for 7-30 days.
Minimum Bid
The bid box displays the minimum acceptable bid. All submitted bids are considered binding and may not be withdrawn.
Maximum Bid
Input the highest amount you're willing to bid for a vehicle, bidding will proceed either until you secure a win or hit your set limit.
Bid Increments
You may submit a specific bid amount or raise your bid manually in increments of £50.
Reserve Price
Please specify the lowest price you are willing to accept as the reserve price. If bids do not reach this amount, your vehicle will not be sold.
Make an Offer
Please submit your best offer to the Seller, taking into account the vehicle's assessed value. Offers are valid for two business days and are subject to a non-refundable buyer's fee of 3% with a minimum charge of £300. If the Seller accepts an offer during the auction, the vehicle will be considered sold, and the auction will end immediately.
Prevention of Sniping
If a bid is placed in the final moments, the auction extends by one minute. It ends when the minute passes without a new bid.
Obligations of Buyers and Irrevocability of Bids
Once a bid has been placed, it is considered final and binding. MotorChain cannot be held responsible for the condition or accuracy of any vehicle listed on the platform. It is solely the buyer's responsibility to carefully review all images and documents provided within the listing, as well as to read the full description and any accompanying comments in detail before making a bid. Please ensure you have a thorough understanding of the vehicle and are completely satisfied with its details before proceeding to place your bid.
Winning the Auction
If you win the auction, you'll need to pay a non-refundable buyer's fee of 3%, with a minimum charge of £300. After you've sent your payment to MotorChain, you'll get the seller's contact details to arrange payment and car collection. When an auction ends, the winner will be notified and can pay the buyer's fee to release contact information.
How to make Payment
Upon completion of the auction, you will need to pay a non-refundable buyer's fee of 3% (with a minimum charge of £300) to release the seller's contact information. Failure to pay the buyer's fee or complete the transaction constitutes a breach of the Auction Terms and Conditions and may result in suspension from the website.
Once your non-refundable payment has been received by MotorChain, the seller's contact details will be released to you so you can arrange vehicle payment and collection of the car.
Buyer's Fees
If you are successful in winning the auction, a non-refundable buyer's fee will be applied. This fee amounts to 3% of the final winning bid. Please note that there is a minimum charge of £300.
It is important to remember that all bids submitted during the auction are binding and cannot be cancelled under any circumstances. Once you have placed a bid, you are committed to the purchase if your bid is successful.
Should you fail to pay the buyer's fee or complete the transaction, you will be in breach of the Auction Terms and Conditions. In such cases, MotorChain reserves the right to suspend or remove your access to the website.
Collection
Try to collect your vehicle and make payment to the seller within seven days of winning. You will receive an email detailing how to reach out to the seller for arranging payment and picking up the car.
